Find Us

Please do not be tempted to use your sat-nav's as they will bring you over Hardknott Pass - not a road I would want to drive by choice!

From the South

  • From the M6 motorway leave at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes (The last garage is the Texaco Garage before Newby Bridge!)
  • Follow signs for Barrow
  • Before you reach Barrow, turn right at the roundabout to Greenodd/ Millom/Workington (A5092) three miles beyond Newby Bridge
  • Follow this road for about 10 miles
  • After Foxfield, beyond Broughton in Furness you need to turn right at the traffic lights towards Ulpha (not suitable for camper-vans - stay on A595 until Holmrook, then follow signs for Eskdale)
  • After 4 miles turn left after Ulpha village - sign posted to Eskdale. Go up the steep hill (sign for Birker Fell).
  • Follow the fell road to King George IV pub (6 miles)
  • Turn right
  • Fisherground Campsite is 300 yds on the left
